At yesterday's AGM, our chairman Andy Burchette stood down after 13 years at the helm.
Andy has been chairman since 2010 and has seen promotions, relegations, and managers come and go. As a Life Member of the club, he will remain heavily involved in the campaign for a new clubhouse at The Heights, which we are all extremely thankful for.
Andy spoke at the AGM
"I have informed the main committee of my decision not to stand for the position of Club Chairman. I have had the honour and privilege to be the Chairman at Milton United for thirteen years. Something I am immensely proud of. I am particularly proud that during my tenure, the club has grown and developed into one of the best in the area, provided a great place to play, support, and socialise. We have created great opportunities to grow and improve the facilities. This is why you will still see me around as I will be concentrating on the replacement clubhouse project. As I leave, I will be nominating Gareth Woodward as chairman. I can not think of a better individual to take this club forward and inject fresh enthusiasm and ideas. We share the same commitment to the club, its importance, history, future, and ethos. I would hope and indeed expect all club members to give him your total support as you have for me.
UTM! "
We are pleased to announce that Gareth Woodward has become the new chairman of Milton United FC.
We will release a statement from Gareth in the coming days.
